Socialist Architecture and Brutalism Tour
The capital of Yugoslavia
Belgrade is the former capital of Yugoslavia and as a result nowadays one of the capitals of brutalist architecture. The Novi Beograd (New Belgrade) part of the city consists of 72 so-called blokovi (blocks) each with their own distinguished design and buildings.
On this tour you’ll visit some of the most well-known iconic brutalist buildings such as the Genex Tower and Blok 23. Hear and see all about the philosophy behind Novi Beograd and the urban planning of the blocks, which might not always look like the nicest places, but actually are all build to provide the most ideal surroundings for urban living.
As an extra we offer exclusive access to an apartment high up inside the Genex tower! Please note in your booking-comments if you would like to go up to see the interior and the amazing view. There is an additional fee of 15 Euro per person and we can only visit if available.
