Is it safe for girls alone in Belgrade?

Belgrade is a very safe city. Even late at night you can see girls going home by themselves. There is a strong macho culture, but it is mixed with pretty courteous behavior of men towards women. If you’re a woman, don’t be surprised if a man opens the door for you or carries your luggage.
